Several busy stars have been linked to coming projects in this week’s round-up of K-drama casting news, including a sports comedy, a time-travel political drama and a pair of thrillers.

Ma Theresa
Following her role in the ENA mystery-thriller Climax alongside Ju Ji-hoon and Ha Ji-won, Nana is being courted for another major drama, having received an offer to lead Ma Theresa.
The series will depict the struggles of characters attempting to take back control of a university that once belonged to their mother. Nana is eyeing the titular role of a criminal psychologist known for her brilliant mind and beauty.
Formerly a member of the K-pop outfit After School, Nana has been increasingly visible on the screen, most notably in the Netflix shows Glitch and Mask Girl.
The actress will next be seen in one of this year’s most hotly anticipated releases: Netflix’s period erotic drama The Scandal. A new Korean adaptation of the steamy French novel Dangerous Liaisons, the project sees Nana co-star alongside Son Ye-jin and Ji Chang-wook.
Paradise
Lee Jong-suk, who is gearing up for the release of The Remarried Empress later this year, is already being courted for another role in the coming series Paradise. The show will focus on Kang Jin-hyuk, a top star who becomes embroiled in a drug scandal.

Lee was last seen opposite Moon Ga-young in the slice-of-life legal drama Law and the City.
In The Remarried Empress, a Disney+ fantasy set in a fictional empire, Lee will feature alongside Ju Ji-hoon and Shin Min-a. Earlier this year, he was also confirmed to star in Iseop’s Romance, a workplace romcom about a corporate heir, which is being produced concurrently with A Casual Lie, another series set in the same universe starring Lee Joon-hyuk.
Paradise is the latest project from Beyond Evil scribe Kim Soo-jin and will be helmed by Oh Choong-hwan, who previously directed Lee in While You Were Sleeping and Big Mouth.
May the Congressman Protect You
Kim Seon-ho and Kim Yoon-seok have been tapped to lead the coming time travel series May the Congressman Protect You, a tvN drama based on the popular web novel of the same name.

Known for hit films such as The Chaser and The Priests, Kim Yoon-seok will portray Goo Young-jin, a veteran politician who takes his own life after being implicated in a corruption scandal. He then returns as a ghost and travels to the past, teaming up with a young civil servant to right the wrongs in his life and dominate the political arena.
Kim Seon-ho will play Cha Jae-rim, the civil servant. Jae-rim, whose only goal is to lead an ordinary life, likes to keep his head down. But everything changes when the ghost of Young-jin appears before him.
Known for Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Kim Seon-ho was last seen in Can This Love Be Translated? on Netflix.
May the Congressman Protect You combines the forces of director Park Shin-woo, behind the acclaimed drama Our Unwritten Seoul, and scribe Kwon Jong-gwan, who penned last year’s twisty Netflix thriller The Price of Confession.
Sunning Baseball Club
The ever-in-demand character actor Oh Jung-se has been offered a leading role in the sports comedy Sunning Baseball Club. The Tving Original series will follow a group of married middle-aged men and their struggles in an amateur baseball league.

The show will be directed by Min Jin-gi, known for the series Salon de Holmes and the multiseason military comedy New Recruit. Yoon Ki-young, who collaborated with Min on seasons three and four of New Recruit, is on board as writer.
The furiously busy Oh concluded the mystery-thriller Climax last month, wraps up the acclaimed series We Are All Trying Here this weekend, stars in the action-comedy Fifties Professionals that launched earlier this week, and will also appear in the big-screen music comedy Wild Sing next month.
Sunning Baseball Club is currently in the casting phase and is aiming for a release in 2027.
