Larsa Pippen just defended her decision to give her 15-year-old daughter a US$2,500 monthly allowance.

The TV personality spoke out during part three of The Real Housewives of Miami season six reunion last Thursday. Larsa shares a daughter, Sophia, and four sons with former NBA star Scottie Pippen. Although Larsa is based in Miami, she revealed to Bravo earlier in the season that Sophia chose to live with Scottie in Los Angeles for her first year of high school.

The topic of monthly allowances came up when host Andy Cohen read a question from a viewer, according to Bravo.

“You guys [have to] understand, LA is super expensive,” Larsa told her co-stars. “So after school, she orders food or Uber or buys presents for her friends’ birthdays.”

In a January episode of RHOM, Larsa admitted that it was tough being away from her daughter, who splits her time between Los Angeles and Miami.

“It’s hard. For sure, it’s hard. But, for me, Miami is home. Like, that’s where my heart and my soul is, and Sophia loves being in LA, and so it’s OK. You know, her dad is there,” Larsa said. “She kind of goes back and forth, and she’s happy. That’s the only thing that I care about.”
