‘Immediately stop shooting’: Trump urges Iran and Israel amid tit-for-tat strikes
Fragile April ceasefire collapses as direct tit-for-tat strikes resume on day 100 of the US-Israel war against Iran

US President Donald Trump appealed for restraint in back-to-back social media posts on Monday, saying both sides “must immediately stop ‘shooting’”.
He later announced that Iran and Israel were “looking to do an immediate CEASEFIRE!”, and that “final” peace negotiations were “proceeding, subject to ignorance or stupidity getting in its way”.
However, he also claimed that “things should move quickly” towards a “final deal”.
The latest developments came as Trump said Israel would have no choice but to accept a potential deal, following an interview walkout when pressed on his campaign pledge of “no new wars”.
Some experts said Trump’s credibility was being called into question as Israel defied his warnings against further strikes.
