Iran targets Israel and Gulf states after denying Trump claim of talks
There’s no sign of reduced fighting after the US president claimed there was dialogue in the Iran war

Airstrikes battered Iran’s capital and Iranian missiles and drones targeted Israel’s Tel Aviv and sites across the Mideast on Tuesday, even as US President Donald Trump said the United States was in talks with the Islamic Republic to end the war.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday said in a post on X that his country is ready to “facilitate meaningful and conclusive talks” to end the war.
“Subject to concurrence by the US and Iran, Pakistan stands ready and honoured to be the host to facilitate meaningful and conclusive talks for a comprehensive settlement of the ongoing conflict,” Sharif wrote.
Tehran’s chokehold on that crucial waterway has snarled international shipping, sent fuel prices skyrocketing, and threatened the world economy.
The delay offered a reprieve after the US and Iran traded threats over the weekend of strikes that could have cut electricity to millions in Iran and around the Gulf and knocked out desalination plants that provide many desert nations with drinking water, while raising fears of possible catastrophe if nuclear plants were hit.
