Soonik Kwon, Masayuki Tsubota, Li Wei and Liu Zhiyin: Serenity

“Serenity” brings together Soonik Kwon, Masayuki Tsubota and the duo Li Wei and Liu Zhiyin for a group exhibition that meditates on the themes of time, memory and the natural world. Kwon’s mixed-media works cover narratives of healing and introspection, while Tsubota’s sculptural works carved from wood blur the lines between material and spirit. Li and Liu’s collaborative sculptures carry a sense of timeless elegance, drawing from traditional Eastern philosophies.

Yam Shalev: Between Times

Yam Shalev’s first solo exhibition in Hong Kong, “Between Times” is a series of paintings that capture the fleeting beauty of everyday moments. From the glow of the golden hour to drifting to sleep, the Berlin-based artist’s intimate works freeze time, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on life’s overlooked details. Rooted in careful studies of colour, composition and ambience, each piece celebrates the ephemeral highlights of daily existence, encouraging us to savour the here and now.

Walasse Ting: Joy, Temptation and Magic

“Joy, Temptation and Magic” surveys the vibrant career of the Chinese-American visual artist Walasse Ting (1928-2010), whose exuberant paintings bridge Western movements such as abstract expressionism and pop art with Chinese artistic traditions. Spanning five decades, the exhibition showcases Ting’s evolution from gestural black-and-white abstractions to later, colourful depictions of nudes, flowers and animals. Highlights include rare early works and monumental acrylics from the 1990s, offering a deeper understanding of the late artist’s oeuvre.

Chiyu Uemae: Cosmology

“Cosmology” is a contemplative journey through Chiyu Uemae’s decades-long exploration of existence, materiality and time. Uemae (1920-2018) was a key figure in Japan’s avant-garde post-war Gutai Art Association. Spanning the 1950s to the 2000s, the exhibition reveals the profound meditative quality of his art, where repetitive gestures transform into transcendent reflections on life. From the textured richness of his early paintings to his stitching series, Uemae’s works embody the crossroads of creation and cosmic wonder.
