Three Philippine boats sail from Manila to Xiamen, China to promote friendship

Three six-foot handmade traditional Philippine boats embarked on a journey from Manila to the Chinese port city of Xiamen. The 29 crew members onboard made the arduous trip, with minimal resources, to retrace a journey made by a Filipino sultan back in 1417 to highlight that despite current maritime disputes, China and the Philippines have a long history of friendship and cooperation.
