Japan's new emperor Naruhito greeted by cheering crowds at rare imperial parade

Tens of thousands of Japanese cheered for new Emperor Naruhito and his wife Empress Masako as the couple passed by in a parade on November 10, 2019, in Tokyo. 

The 59-year-old monarch ascended to the throne on May 1, 2019, following the abdication of his father, Akihito.
