Twin panda cubs make public debut at Tokyo zoo as fans clamour for tickets

Twin giant panda cubs born in Tokyo, named Xiao Xiao and Lei Lei, made their public debut at the Ueno Zoo on January 12, 2022, to the delight of hundreds of fans. The cubs were born on June 23, 2021. Due to a spike in the Omicron Covid-19 variant in Japan, officials have decided to limit public viewing of the cubs to three days. Only 1,080 lucky fans, who won tickets in a lottery, will be able to take part.
