Protesters rally against Imran Khan’s removal as parliament elects new prime minister

Tens of thousands of former prime minister Imran Khan’s supporters protested across Pakistan after he was ousted by a no-confidence vote. Parliament elected opposition lawmaker Shehbaz Sharif as the new leader on April 11, 2022.The appointment prompted more than 100 lawmakers from Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (Pakistan Justice Party) to resign from the National Assembly.
