Six people have died from suspected cyanide poisoning in a hotel in Bangkok, with two of the victims holding US passports. Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin described the grisly discovery on July 16, 2024, as an isolated incident as he sought to assure foreigners that they were safe in the country.
