Police unplug Ed Sheeran’s surprise street performance in India

A street performance by Ed Sheeran in India’s tech capital of Bengaluru was stopped abruptly by police when they unplugged his microphone on February 9, 2025. Police said Sheeran did not have permission to busk on the busy street. However, the singer-songwriter later wrote on Instagram that he had been cleared to perform at the location. The incident happened hours before Sheeran was to perform at a concert in the city.
