Hindu communities in cities across India have come together to celebrate Holi, a festival where revellers shower each other with colourful powder and flower petals. The 2025 edition officially took place on March 14, but celebrations got under way several days ahead of the annual festival. Also known as the Festival of Colours, Holi is the second biggest annual celebration for Hindus after Diwali, the Festival of Light. Holi heralds spring and honours the divine love of the Hindu deities Radha and Krishna.
