The Sri Lankan hotel with a unique selling point

Located on the shores of Lake Kandalama in the green hills of central Sri Lanka, the Amba Yaalu Hotel opened in January 2025 with a unique selling point – it is staffed exclusively by women. The concept is a first in the country, where men hold up to 90 per cent of jobs in the hotel industry.
