Table tennis diplomacy: a sign of warmer ties between South Korea and Japan

Japanese Defence Minister Shinjiro Koizumi and his South Korean counterpart, Ahn Gyu-back, played a friendly table tennis match following their meeting on January 30, 2026. The two ministers have agreed to deepen defence cooperation between their countries, including reciprocal visits and annual defence ministerial meetings.
