Inside an abandoned Cambodian scam centre seized by Thai troops

Thai officials have revealed a six-storey Cambodian scam centre in a town along its northern border with the country. The compound shown to reporters on February 2, 2026, had different mock-up sets resembling police stations and bank offices. There were also fake police uniforms with markings from at least seven countries. The Thai military said the compound was secured during border clashes in December because Cambodian forces had used it as a military base.
