Soaring oil prices driven by the US-Israeli war on Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz could accelerate global EV adoption and further strengthen China’s fast-growing car industry, experts say. But the same fossil-fuel shock is threatening energy-intensive EV manufacturing in emerging hubs such as Thailand, which relies heavily on oil and gas imports from Gulf producers.
