In Taipei, the annual Lantern Festival wrapped up the Chinese New Year holiday season with a firecracker-filled parade on March 3, 2026, to honour the Earth God. Chen Jui-kun, a veteran of the celebrations, said the noisy spectacle “symbolises prosperity and abundance”.
