Chinese race official banned for 1 year after accidentally pushing winner off course

A marathon official in China has been suspended for one year after mistakenly diverting the winner away from the finish line. The official mistook the athlete for a half-marathon participant and blocked his path, pushing him towards a chute used by finishers in the shorter race. The runner from Yunnan, Sheng Xueli, ultimately was recognised as winner of the full marathon in Chongqing.
