Students and families celebrate end of China’s gaokao college entrance exam

Close to 13 million Chinese students completed their national college entrance exams on Tuesday. Known as gaokao, it is considered the most important exam in China. It is also viewed as one of the most competitive in the world. An average of less than 40 per cent of students in the country are able to apply for a bachelor’s programme.
