Diners in Thailand enjoy meal in flooded restaurant amid heavy rain season

Elverina Hidayati

Diners ate as fish snapped at their heels in the central Thai province of Nonthaburi. Customers are welcome to play and feed the aquatic animals, which came after floods overflowed into the restaurant. In recent weeks, heavy rains lashed nearly half of Thailand, causing the Chao Phraya river to burst its banks on October 11, 2022. According to the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC), the flooding cost the country around 20 billion baht (US$527) in economic losses in October.
