Funeral with the highest honours held for Hong Kong firefighter killed in Tai Po blaze

A funeral procession with the highest honours was held on December 19, 2025, for 37-year-old firefighter Ho Wai-ho, who died in the line of duty during the fire disaster at Tai Po’s Wang Fuk Court in late November. The hearse drove past the site of the tragedy as well as the Sha Tin Fire Station, where Ho was stationed. It then drove to a cemetery plot, reserved for civil servants who died in the line of duty, where Ho was buried. The fire broke out on November 26, engulfing seven residential blocks, killing at least 160 people.
