Taiwanese mortuary reconstruction specialist Kuo Chang-chen came to Hong Kong to restore the bodies of those who died in the catastrophic Tai Po fire. As part of the restoration process, Kuo’s team works with family members to collect photos of the victims, then uses medical materials and prosthetic make-up to restore detailed facial features and even damaged or missing body parts. The November 2025 fire at Wang Fuk Court was the deadliest in decades in Hong Kong, ravaging seven high-rise buildings and killing at least 160 people.
