Hong Kong Island’s promenade finally completed after 16 years as final extension opens in North Point

Visitors descended on a new boardwalk extension that opened on December 29, 2025, described as the “final piece of the puzzle” linking Hong Kong Island’s 13km (8-mile) promenade. Its opening marks the end of 16 years of planning and construction.
