Wave of complaints filed after Taiwanese rock band Mayday changes Hong Kong concert date

Hong Kong’s consumer watchdog said as of 5pm on March 12, 2026, that it has received at least 174 complaints relating to the cancellation of a concert date by Taiwanese rock band Mayday. The performance at Kai Tak Sports Park has been rescheduled to a few days later. However, ticket holders will first have to get a refund before buying tickets for the new date. Local fans complained that organisers failed to provide priority purchase or ticket exchange options for other shows. Fans from outside the city said they will not be compensated for lost travel and accommodation expenses.
