The Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department announced on March 28, 2026, a new rule that limits air passengers from carrying more than two power banks on board flights. Authorities said the move is to comply with International Civil Aviation Organization safety regulations for lithium batteries. But many airline passengers departing from Hong Kong on the first weekday since the rule took effect said they were unaware of the new rule.
