Heat, fatigue and pressure: Post reporter sees what it takes to work as a food deliverer in Hong Kong

About 13,000 people deliver food and goods in Hong Kong, according to a 2024 survey commissioned by the city’s Labour Department. Some work full-time, while others work part-time to supplement their incomes. Many opt to make their deliveries on foot rather than with a bike or a vehicle. Post reporter Oscar Liu went out to see what it was like to deliver on foot in a dense city defined by hilly terrain.
