Exoskeleton devices to help Wang Fuk Court residents visit fire-ravaged flats

Wang Fuk Court residents are set to return home for the first time since the deadly blaze to retrieve personal belongings in designated time slots starting from April 20.

Starting April 20, 2026, residents of Wang Fuk Court can return to their homes to retrieve personal belongings left behind after last November’s fire. Access to the damaged flats is limited to rear staircases, since lifts remain out of service. To help displaced residents including the elderly, who would struggle to climb the 31-storey tower blocks, a community group is providing 50 exoskeleton mobility devices.
