China joins elite club of countries that have reached Mars

After seven months of space travel and three months in Mars’ orbit, China’s Tianwen-1 unmanned spacecraft successfully deployed its rover Zhu Rong onto the red planet on May 15, 2021. China has become only the third country in the world to safely land a rover on Mars. Its mission is to explore Mars’ landscape, as well as study its surface and atmosphere.
