Father and son sail in Rolex China Sea Race to raise awareness about ocean plastic

Cosmas and Philippe Grelon set sail from Hong Kong on March 27, 2024, aiming to do more than just win the 565 nautical miles (1,046km) Rolex China Sea Race to the Philippines. This year, the father-and-son team hopes to draw attention to plastic waste pollution which they have encountered in past events. They say the problem is so widespread that getting stuck in plastic may even have hurt their chances of winning past races.
