Bus drivers in several Chinese cities have been spotted dressing up as historical characters during the Chinese New Year, which began on February 17, 2026. Some of them transformed into Qin Shi Huang, China’s first emperor, while others dressed up as famous poets Li Bai and Du Fu from the Tang dynasty. The themed buses operate under special routes that take passengers to major attractions. The service aims to boost local tourism and help visitors learn more about each city’s history and culture.
