Statue of Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo unveiled in India to inspire youth

A statue of Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo was unveiled in western India on December 28, 2021. A lawmaker hopes the statue will inspire local youth to “take football to another level”. But some critics say Indian football players should have been honoured instead of Ronaldo.
