Ronaldo in Hong Kong: new Al-Nassr boss says coaching famed player was incentive to join
Saudi Super Cup pits Al-Nassr against Al-Ittihad, whose striker Karim Benzema denies it’s all about his battle with ex-Real Madrid colleague.
Hong Kong is hosting the Saudi Super Cup from August 19-23, 2025, featuring global football icons Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Ronaldo trained with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr in Hong Kong on August 18, as the club prepared for its semi-final against Al-Ittihad. The 40-year-old Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, joined his teammates at a rain-soaked session a day before the clash at the Hong Kong Stadium. The Saudi Super Cup, expanded in recent years with the participation of the country’s leading clubs, is being played in China for the first time as part of Saudi Arabia’s push to raise the profile of its domestic league.
