Hurricane Melissa has left a path of devastation across Haiti, Cuba and Jamaica, killing dozens of people and flooding cities and towns. Melissa made landfall on October 28, 2025, in Jamaica as a catastrophic Category 5 storm with top wind speeds of 295km/h (185 mph). One of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes on record, the massive storm weakened as it moved on to Cuba, but continued to devastate areas even well outside its direct path.
