Recap by phillip woo

Jolly Jumper pushed forward to track the speed 970m out and after claiming the lead 180m out from Verbier, he was too good for a second win at his 22nd start. A gear change worked the oracle. Superb Guy ran on well for second after a rails run from midfield. It was his best effort from 14 starts. Team Happy stayed on for third after a box-seat run. He was able to back up too good efforts at the Valley. Run Yes Run ran on nicely near the inside for fourth after making his run five back on the fence. He's now run with merit in two tries of 1,400m. The All Rounder just got up to fifth after making his run five back and three wide from gate seven. It was a positive showing carrying top weight. Only U got going late down the outside for sixth after a patient ride third last from gate nine. He's a good money spinner for connections but arrives too late more often than not.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three : (676) - POK FU LAM PUBLIC RIDING SCHOOL HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 THE ALL ROUNDER (K402) E Brown Passing the 900 Metres shifted out when being steadied to avoid WINNING CIGAR.

Horse No 3 WAVE GARDEN (K209) R Kingscote Bumped on jumping.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 4 GOLDEN FORTUNE (K500) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly.

Near the 900 Metres was steadied and shifted out to avoid SPARKLE AND GOLD when that runner was being retired from the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have blood at the right nostril.

An endoscopic examination conducted on GOLDEN FORTUNE found that there was no blood in its trachea and therefore the blood in the nostril was determined to be not coming from the lungs and as such the horse was deemed not to have bled.

Horse No 5 ONLY U (J037) K C Leung Bumped on jumping.

Hampered leaving the 900 Metres when taken wider by THE ALL ROUNDER.

Horse No 6 GENERAL SMART (K138) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.

Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid SPARKLE AND GOLD when that runner was being retired from the event.

Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when improving between SPEEDY TRIDENT and WINNING CIGAR, both of which shifted ground slightly.

Z Purton stated that after settling back in the field his mount found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight from that position.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 SUPERB GUY (K323) J Orman Jumped only fairly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 SPARKLE AND GOLD (K259) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.

When questioned M Chadwick stated that near the 900 Metres he felt the horse's action change and when he became concerned that there was something amiss he retired the horse from the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, SPARKLE AND GOLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.

Horse No 12 JOLLY JUMPER (K110) C L Chau Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 14 RUN YES RUN (J264) M L Yeung Briefly held up for clear running near the 400 Metres behind SUPERB GUY.
