Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (680) - THE ST GEORGE'S CHALLENGE CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 GALLANT EPOCH (J451) C Y Ho C Y Ho stated that his mount came under pressure after entering the Home Straight and weakened noticeably but he could offer no explanation for the horse's disappointing run.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of GALLANT EPOCH was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, GALLANT EPOCH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 2 KA YING SUPERB (J091) H Y Yuen Raced keenly in the early stages.
Near the 1000 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid BLING BLING GENIUS (L Hewitson) which shifted in when not quite clear.
L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 5 AUDACIOUS PURSUIT (K398) J Moreira Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 BEAUTY VIVA (K155) A Badel Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 7 CIRCUIT MARSHAL (K526) J Orman Shifted out abruptly on jumping and made heavy contact with LUCKY YEAR.
J Orman stated that his mount did not appreciate the "Good to Yielding" track conditions.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 LUCKY YEAR (K443) H Bentley Jumped only fairly and then was badly crowded by CIRCUIT MARSHAL which shifted out abruptly at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 VICTOR SUPREME (K547) Z Purton Jumped only fairly, shifted in and made contact with AMAZING DUCK.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 ILLUMINOUS (J170) M F Poon A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 AMAZING DUCK (H392) R Kingscote Bumped at the start.
Horse No 13 BLING BLING GENIUS (J397) L Hewitson L Hewitson stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position but not lead.
He said when BLING BLING GENIUS commenced well he elected to continue forward from a wide barrier and lead the event to avoid covering additional ground.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 14 FIGHTING MACHINE (J015) K Teetan Became unbalanced on jumping when it made contact with LUCKY YEAR.

Well-backed Bling Bling Genius dicatated the pace from gate 12 and after straightening a length on top, he kept on gamely for back-to-back wins despite a rise in class. He has been racing consistently well for most of the campaign. Lucky Year was closing with every stride for second after a one-off trip from midfield. He had shown some ability in his first four starts. Amazing Duck stuck around for third after a speed-tracking run from gate 10. It was a better effort at his second straight run over 1,600m. Turin Champions whacked on one paced after a prominent run one off the fence. It was another positive effort after placing third at his initial 1,600m run last start. Favourite Victor Supreme ran on late near the outside for fifth after making his run third last from gate 11. Ka Ying Superb whacked on one paced when asked for an effort after a box-seat run.
