MICKLEY (K082) for a short distance near the 250M had difficulty obtaining clear running - Race 682 COOL BOY (L014) rider stated that the intention was to hold a handy position. He said from his wide barrier he was obliged to make use of his mount to go forward in the early stages and race outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground. He said this resulted in his mount racing in a more forward position than intended. Trainer confirmed the instructions were to be handy but accepted the reasons as to why the horse was obliged to race in a more forward position - Race 639.
MY MARS (L301) bumped at the start - Race 664.
FLYING FORTRESS (J445) from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 633.
STAR RISE (K516) when questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight rider stated that he was instructed to hold his mount up in the early stages of the Home Straight as his mount possesses a short sprint. He said after following the favourite and the winner into the race he was content to remain racing behind the winner having regard to his instructions and also the winner was providing him with cover to continue to improve. He added that after shifting out approaching the 250M his mount lay in as it was placed under pressure. Trainer confirmed the instructions and the reasons as to why he issued those instructions. The Stewards found the tactics adopted by rider were reasonable in the circumstances - Race 540.
ALMIGHTY LIGHTNING (L126) shifted in on jumping and made contact with a runner. Near the 300M made contact with a runner. Rider stated that his mount failed to handle the "Soft" track conditions. Trainer advised the horse had pleased him leading into the race and agreed with the assessment of the rider. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 664.
LUNAR DASH (K334) bumped shortly after the start. Rider stated that his mount came under pressure in the early stages of the Home Straight before giving ground noticeably over the concluding stages. Trainer stated that the horse had pleased him leading into the race but as the horse was racing first up from a two-month break he was of the opinion it would derive a fitness benefit from the performance. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. The performance was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 402.
EMBRACE ABERDEEN (L020) had its right hind plate refitted in the holding stables, was examined by the vet and passed suitable to race. Leaving the 400M was bumped. Bumped near the 200M - Race 652.
DASHING BASICS (L224) jumped only fairly. Rider stated that his mount, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong, would derive a benefit from the race experience. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 549.
