PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Flying Wrote is itching to add to two earlier Valley 1,200m wins in Class Four with seconds in two of his past four outings in this grade, including a hard-charging neck effort behind Giant Ballon after a wide trip from behind midfield last start. He has each-way claims. Storming Dragon continued to race well without winning in 12 consecutive starts after an opening Valley 1,200m win off 66 before instantly striking following a pace-stalking run down in Class Four. He should get his chance from gate three. All Out For Six has performed well from awkward draws in all three Sha Tin runs and has since given a good sight on the speed in a recent Valley 1,200m trial. He must be kept safe. Chateauneuf has been out of form of late but does return to the course and distance of a win off a rating two points higher in November and does have gate one.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
ALL OUT FOR SIX (L193) shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters. Rider confirmed that from the outside barrier he was instructed to go forward. - Race 524.
CHATEAUNEUF (J219) bumped at the start. Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the race was examined by the vet who found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported - Race 639.
A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) was crowded on jumping - Race 494.
KING MILES (J158) bumped at the start and became unbalanced. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 592.
FLYING WROTE (J290) raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event - Race 652.
STORMING DRAGON (J237) when questioned rider stated that he was instructed to endeavour to take up a more forward position than its previous race starts if the horse commenced well. He said when his mount commenced well he elected to ride it forward to hold an on-pace position, particularly when the expected leader of the event had been withdrawn at the Start. Trainer confirmed that he had requested rider to ride the horse in a positive manner as the horse was carrying equal top weight of 135 lbs and, in his opinion, it would be difficult to make up ground from back in the field under that weight - Race 610.
SKY CAP (K125) jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with a runner - Race 631.
BLUE ILLUSION (K468) bumped on jumping. Bumped leaving the 600M - Race 631.
GRIT SPIRIT (L116) shortly after the start became unbalanced when crowded - Race 639.
SUNNY DA BEST (J118) jumped only fairly. Briefly crowded near the 800M - Race 623.
SUGAR GOODSON (L303) was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on vet advice (lame right fore) . Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 561.
FIERY STEED (K575) bumped at the start. After travelling a short distance was eased - Race 682.
